He did, however, pop open a maintenance panel on one side of his chassis, taking a moment to secure the blaster on the inside of the plating before snapping it back into place.
Unless they were specifically scanning for weapons it wouldn't register as anything other than just another part, perhaps something that had come loose from where it belonged, or maybe something spare to have a replacement on hand for something that was showing wear.
