OPEN RP POST • STAR WARS MINGLE ⭐️

whatever it is you've been doing
you are now in Canto Bight!
That's right. It's just like those jamjar games. One moment you're minding your own business, and then... poof!
You're in Canto Bight for no apparent reason.
(Or you've always wanted to be here, and you finally did it. Whatever, we're not the cops.)
That's not the weirdest part, though. Because you might be seeing double.
It's like the time-space continuum collapsed over the city
and now doubles and multiples of you or people you
So go have fun with that!
HOW TO PLAY:
- Toplevel your character. Different version/AU, different toplevel please.
- Add a short background or link to an info post, and indicate prefs. TELL US WHAT KIND OF SHENANIGANS YOU'RE LOOKING FOR. Shipping, smut, family reunions, dark side shenanigans, murder, a Ben Solo smackdown...
TrollReply to others.- Lather, rise, repeat.
- Please note that while the intent of this post is for characters from various Star Wars verses to mingle, you don't need a Star Wars character to play! All characters are welcome — characters AU'd into SW, characters having interacted with SW characters in games and memes, fandom OCs, ship babies, etc.
- Have fun and be excellent to each other! ♥

"So what should we do first?" she asks as they head into one of the casinos.

He shared an indulgent smile with her as they entered, an excuse for him to scan the room behind her, the arm around her waist squeezing gently. "A drink first? And then we'll take a look around, see what looks interesting?"
no subject
"A drink sounds perfect." She leaned in to press a kiss to his cheek, which let him get another view of the room. Once she straightened she went with him to one of the bars, doing her best to be nonchalant. It wasn't easy as most of the time she was a punch first and ask questions later kind of woman, but she was determined not to let him down.
Once at the bar, her eyes raked over the sparse drink menu. "Why don't you order for me?" Easier for her and better to let any kind of wandering ears underestimate her.

Even while on a mission to Canto Bight, where some of the universes' worst came to play. Cassian easily accepted the kiss to his cheek, glancing over Carol's shoulder at the passersby and other holiday makers nearest them at the bar. No, his contact had not arrived yet. They'd have to kill some time for the moment.
Truthfully, Cassian liked that Carol was a punch first, ask questions later type of woman because sometimes ... his missions didn't exactly turn out according to plan. It'd be nice to have the assurance of her presence, just in case something went down.
"How about that good old standby - Corellian whiskey? It'll warm you up", he replied, lifting a wry eyebrow as he then pressed a kiss to her cheek. "Later, I'll warm you more thoroughly, how about that?"
no subject
"Corellian whiskey sounds good." She actually hadn't had it before but she trusted Cassian's judgement. In return she leaned in and kissed him sweetly on the lips. Sweetly, but quickly, so he could still keep an eye out. "You warming me up more thoroughly sounds even better." Part of her is not-so-secretly hoping that his contact hurries up so that they can get to the more fun parts of seeing each other in person.
"So what's the big draw here besides all of the gambling? Or is gambling just the whole reason this place exists?"
no subject
One drink wouldn't hurt - especially since they had already prepared by taking a pill that neutralized the effects of most alcohols, Corellian whiskey included. He easily returned the kiss, the arm around her waist tightening slightly. Maybe he had to tear his gaze away from Carol in order to ask for the drinks, but soon enough he scanned the crowd once more before focusing his attention back to her again. "That's what the hotel room is for."
"The gambling is a front for all the arms deals made under the table. Lots of weapons and credits exchanging hands here."
no subject
She smiled at him, her hand running over his free hand on the bar. Carol knew that he didn't love everything about his job as a spy, but it was pretty sexy to see him in his element. Competent men were sexy and she could see it in the way he canvassed the room, but then could easily switch his attention back to her. "I hope we get there soon.
The gambling being a front makes a lot of sense. Anyone here we need to avoid?"
no subject
This time, Carol was with him. And although he was very well aware that she could take care of herself, he still wanted her to be safe. He never really considered his own.
His lips turned up into the hint of a mischievous smile and he nodded his agreement, keeping up the facade (was it, though?) of a happily distracted couple as the bartender set their drinks in front of them. Nonchalantly, he reached for his drink and took a sip, lazily looking around the room again. "Anyone who so much as appears Imperial, probably. Otherwise, as far as I can tell, there's no one here right now who would recognize me."
But back to the hotel comment ...
"It sounds like you've got plans for me later."
no subject
Carol picked up her own drink and took a sip. It was strong, but not unpleasant, and did in fact feel warm as it slid down her throat. She nodded at his comment about Imperials and matched his grin with one of her own.
"Oh yes. After you warm me up, I'm going to absolutely wreck you."
no subject
For the first time since he was six years old and on his own, Cassian was thinking about a future.
His eyebrow raised all the further, but his eyes lit up at the statement. His arm tightened just so. "Guess I'd better finish up down here, then, huh?"
Might as well use the amenities they've been granted, right?
no subject
But the key word there was nearly. There were still things that hurt her, that could take her out. And while they were few and far between, she did find herself stopping to consider them before diving in. It was more than worth taking a minute to think if it kept her alive not just for the universe, the Avengers, but for Cassian.
Her smile widened and she leaned in to steal another quick kiss. "Do the job well." A reminder, though she knew he would even if she didn't say it. "But then, yes. We'll have some fun." It was rare that she had the opportunity to enjoy a fancy hotel room. She was going to make it count for them both.
no subject
Still, he knew that they were both working toward an after, and that made all the difference.
"Always", he answered, his lips quirking upward in the aftermath of the kiss. It shouldn't be difficult, just the exchange of data sticks, but still, sometimes een the easiest missions fell apart. And with so many people surrounding them, the situation was unpredictable at best.
From the corner of his eye, he caught sight of the contact casually walking near the rendezvous point. In the guise of pressing a kiss to the column of Carol's throat, Cassian spoke, his voice low enough so that only she could hear. "I'm going to lead you to the drop point. We will act distracted and bump into him. We will drop our respective datasticks, pick up the other, apologize and go on our way. Ready?"
no subject
Carol's hand came up to rest on the back of his neck. She gave a subtle stroke of her finger and hummed a sound of agreement since her lips weren't nestled against any skin and she wasn't sure who could overhear. Then for the sake of other ears: "Come on, handsome. Let's go,"
no subject
He leans closer, nodding his head a fraction, the arm he's curled around her middle tightening slightly, his smile a bit dazed as he took a step away from the bar, making sure that they were still on a collision course with their target as they went.
no subject
She places her hand on his chest, making it look like she's relying entirely on him to take them to their destination. But out of the corner of her eye, she can see them coming up on his contact. Just a little more and they'd make contact.
no subject
Even as he leads her through the crowd, he's got one eye firmly on the target, gauging the distance, their trajectory, any nearby passerby that may or may not get in their way. Thankfully, nobody actually does end up crossing their paths and eventually contact is made, the collision looks as accidental as it's meant to, and Cassian drops to one knee as he laughs heartily.
"Sorry about that! Didn't really see where I was going. Here, let me pick this up for you."
Switching datasticks is easy, and he's already tucked the precious information away by the time he stands, his smile crooked and apologetic as he hands over the dropped chips. "Here you are, mate. Good luck out there."
