OPEN RP POST • STAR WARS MINGLE ⭐️

whatever it is you've been doing
you are now in Canto Bight!
That's right. It's just like those jamjar games. One moment you're minding your own business, and then... poof!
You're in Canto Bight for no apparent reason.
(Or you've always wanted to be here, and you finally did it. Whatever, we're not the cops.)
That's not the weirdest part, though. Because you might be seeing double.
It's like the time-space continuum collapsed over the city
and now doubles and multiples of you or people you
So go have fun with that!
HOW TO PLAY:
- Toplevel your character. Different version/AU, different toplevel please.
- Add a short background or link to an info post, and indicate prefs. TELL US WHAT KIND OF SHENANIGANS YOU'RE LOOKING FOR. Shipping, smut, family reunions, dark side shenanigans, murder, a Ben Solo smackdown...
TrollReply to others.- Lather, rise, repeat.
- Please note that while the intent of this post is for characters from various Star Wars verses to mingle, you don't need a Star Wars character to play! All characters are welcome — characters AU'd into SW, characters having interacted with SW characters in games and memes, fandom OCs, ship babies, etc.
- Have fun and be excellent to each other! ♥

In other words, they have a couple of people to help make their movements unpredictable.
He gives them a wry smile. "We'll try not to step on toes, but well, he is fresh from a war he was a General in and I also used to be a rather high up authority figure elsewhere."
He suddenly gives them a cheerful smile. "I'd love to have seen their faces when Anakin did whatever it was he did that got my ship and the gunners banged up. Something typically him, I'd guess. While I'm thinking about it, are there any fighters short a pilot he can borrow for his antics so he can be flying something actually meant to be flown by insane fighter pilots?"

"As far as our maps are concerned, this planet has nothing on it. Knowing that wasn't true...it's a good choice." At least, if they're not about to be haunted by angry Force ghosts.
"As long as you don't question me in front of the others," Leia says, shrugging, "I'll take any suggestions you have. We're a small force, smaller than the Rebel Alliance was. We can't afford losses."
Amilyn is the one that returns the bright grin. "Oh, we'll have to talk to our own insane fighter pilot about that." Leia shoots her friend a look, rolling her eyes slightly.

"I do know how to respect the chain of command in public and raise my issues in private; that being something I learned fairly early on as an apprentice," Garth'zel says dryly. Given that he knows that Leia has to sense the Dark Side around him even if he wasn't actively using it, hearing he was an apprentice rather than a Padawan shouldn't be a surprise. "Anakin's... not as good at that and I may need to either metaphorically or literally stomp on his foot a few times." Just a little advanced warning about 'He Who Doesn't Think Before He Speaks With A Side Of Poor Impulse Control'.
"Saying it might be a bad idea to let them meet where the peace of mind and sanity of anyone not them are concerned?" Garth'zel asks, amused.

"He is the one who got it in his head to attack a Dreadnought by himself in an X-wing." She might have believed in his ability to pull it off, and he definitely did, but he still was insane to think of it.

Joy. Just what his liver and liquor cabinet needs.
no subject
Probably because he does.
Turning to Leia, there's still a quick moment of him wrestling with his expression before he manages pull polite and formal smile. "General Organa, it is an honor." He manages to keep his voice fairly even but there's still a wobble to it in the end. He's trying.

Even if she'd thought she was ready to deal with this, it's one thing knowing that an encounter with the time-displaced man that was her biological father is going to happen, and it's quite another for it to actually happen. She's calling on all her not-inconsiderable diplomatic training to keep a calm face, but her mind is racing either way.
"Thank you for your assistance, General Skywalker." When in doubt, fall back upon respect and formality.

He shakes his head slightly. Time to get back on topic. "This trip is just us; the other two originally planned are busy with their respective responsibilities right now. If there's time later, there can be another trip for them." Assuming they show interest.
He hands out a hand for one of the mallets to be added to his bag. Come on, let him get that last thing packed so they can get moving.

"That's fine. It's not like I sleep much." Although he'd probably be in the enginneering hanger rather than the 'working' part of the temple.
Turning back to Leia, he bowed his head. "General is fine, if you'd rather." If it hurts to call her Organa, what does he feel? It's only part of why he offers his arm - his left arm - to Amilyn. Garth'zel holds a higher rank, as does his daughter. Despite his actually being the one who should lead.
no subject
Leia nods in response. "Thank you." Let's take this slowly. She'll...be civil, at least.
no subject
His right arm goes out for Leia since he has no reason to be twitchy over it. He'll just not be commenting on Anakin's choice of partner; it's probably for the best to keep a certain amount of space between them. "So. Where are we starting?"
no subject
But Amilyn on his arm, Garth'zel and Leia behind, this is a type of formality he's at least familiar with. "I thought the enginneering hanger - it's heavily secured, but then the crews can start to tackle repairs and rebuilds, then the main Temple enterance, branch into the side chambers and sleeping cells, then head deeper into the Temple in case the First Order does brave the debris cloud and we need to pull in. Unless there are objections?"
no subject
Amilyn, though, is ready to do her best to break the tension. "That does sound like the most logical route. You did say that we might have to bridge some gaps--is that just due to the age, do you think?"
Or did the Jedi booby-trap this place? That would be interesting.
no subject
He shakes his head slightly. "There was a place that belonged to the Sadow'een--that is, elite assassins who served Naga Sadow--on Hoth and getting in was tricky due to traps and ancient droids that were still functioning." He makes a face. "I got a little fried by one because there wasn't a way to avoid the damn thing; just set it off. Anyway. I had to fight off the droids while an archeologist that I was borrowing--and ended up keeping--dealt with the trap on the door. I honestly have no idea if it's still possible to find or if ice and snow finally filled up the way to get to it."
Not entirely germane, but hey, it keeps the attention off Anakin and his bag of issues, so.

"The Temple was built over the course of two centuries, around eleven hundred years ago and needed repairs during the Clone Wars we didn't have the manpower or resources to do." Still, he listens intently to Garth'zel's explanation as they walk, easily guiding them through the overgrown brush until they can see the hanger opening - blocked by a thick tangle of vines he knows from experience will take a vibro-ax to cut through. Or lightsabers. "Eh. Might want to let us cut a path." They could vault the patch. The ladies could not.
no subject
"Oh, fascinating! We used Hoth as a base back during the Rebellion, so I think it's completely buried now--would have been in reports of the planet if it wasn't, I'm sure. We certainly didn't use any existing structures to build Echo Base."
She also looks game to try climbing the vines, but Leia's more practical nature is going to win that particular fight. She's too old and tired to go vaulting and/or clambering over any vines, and they're going to have to cut them down anyway.
"Please do."
no subject
He gently disengages from Leia to head towards the vines, pulling out his lightsaber. "Anakin, which side are you taking?" So he can hit the opposite side.
no subject
Anakin watches, taking his saber in his left hand and motions with the butt end of the hilt - he might be right handed but was trained to be ambidextrous with his saber - injury only honed that training. "I'll go left."
no subject
Leia feels calm enough to chime in. "It's awful. No one liked Echo Base but you, Amilyn."
"Well, the acoustics were lovely."
no subject
no subject
"Why give the Droid back? It'd probably freeze left there." Anakin sweeps his own lightsaber, using his right hand to sweep the cuttings further to the left. "There shouldn't be any droids here. We did use them in the Temple and on some other sites but not all of them. It was considered a duty of the Masters to upkeep this Temple."
