OPEN RP POST • STAR WARS MINGLE ⭐️

whatever it is you've been doing
you are now in Canto Bight!
That's right. It's just like those jamjar games. One moment you're minding your own business, and then... poof!
You're in Canto Bight for no apparent reason.
(Or you've always wanted to be here, and you finally did it. Whatever, we're not the cops.)
That's not the weirdest part, though. Because you might be seeing double.
It's like the time-space continuum collapsed over the city
and now doubles and multiples of you or people you
So go have fun with that!
HOW TO PLAY:
- Toplevel your character. Different version/AU, different toplevel please.
- Add a short background or link to an info post, and indicate prefs. TELL US WHAT KIND OF SHENANIGANS YOU'RE LOOKING FOR. Shipping, smut, family reunions, dark side shenanigans, murder, a Ben Solo smackdown...
TrollReply to others.- Lather, rise, repeat.
- Please note that while the intent of this post is for characters from various Star Wars verses to mingle, you don't need a Star Wars character to play! All characters are welcome — characters AU'd into SW, characters having interacted with SW characters in games and memes, fandom OCs, ship babies, etc.
- Have fun and be excellent to each other! ♥

It wasn't something he could explain, and wasn't going to try to do so, either, "But as we don't know how we got here, it may make more sense to stick together." That was his reasoning, at any rate, and he didn't plan on being swayed from it.

But then he heard himself say it. "Stay with me. Please?"

"You have everything you need?" he asked Kaytoo.
no subject
"I'll remain on low alert. Just in case." He doubted anything was going to happen, but if it did he wanted to be prepared.

Cassian didn't think they'd be disturbed here. He trusted Ymya well enough. But since when had that kind of security helped him sleep better? It was the addition/presence particularly of Kaytoo that had gradually improved his sleep, in his whole life since Carida.
Cassian stepped over to Kay long enough to press his hand briefly to Kay's chestplate.
"If you can possibly help it," he said softly—with the shared knowledge that this wouldn't even be a question if not for this whole we were just dead what are we doing here now thing: "be here when I wake up, yeah?"
no subject
Chances were good that with that low-alert he'd be coming fully online, if only briefly, every hour or so -whether he heard anything or not- just to make sure everything was still as it should be.
sorry for delay! hope this works!
The six year-old slipped from cover. He ran out onto the great sprawling steps of the Academy. In the midst of the riot, with a toy blaster, he put himself in front of Jeron's body and tried to defend it. He was knocked over by larger bodies who didn't see him at all. The blaster fell somewhere away. The child found his palms braced against Jeron's motionless chest. Something blew up. The child tried to shield the body with his own. Then there were hands on him, pulling him up to his feet.
Much of the time, Cassian didn't sleep deeply. When he was on assignment and had to stay quiet because he was in danger of being located or he was sharing a room (or bed) with someone who couldn't know who he really was. Only really with Kaytoo did he sleep deeply enough to dream.
Because Cassian often fought people in his dreams. Who it was, what point in his life, varied, but the external manifestations didn't. He'd start jolting, sometimes thrashing, and yelling in a nonsense blur of languages.
Right now, he was shaking fit to loose the mattress from the frame and crying out, slurred and disjointed, for someone to get away or let him go.

Which was why he detached from the charging station to move closer, settling into waking Cassian up, it was a simple alarm, three tones, a pause, and three again, quiet enough not to wake anyone else up, steady enough to break through all but the worst of the dreams, and not urgent enough to startle him awake which was the most important part, really. Startled-awake flailing hadn't ever done Kay any damage, but there had been split knuckles at the least on Cassian's side of things once or twice, before they worked out the current system.
no subject
The tones got where they needed to. Cassian went rigid, then limp, then his eyes opened. They darted around the room; he sat up and gave it another sweep; then he looked, blinking, at Kay. "What's up? Anything wrong?"
no subject
If Cassian had anything to say about it, Kay would listen, but he also wasn't going to press the issue if Cassian wanted to keep the nature of the dreams to himself.
no subject
Cassian swiped a hand over his eyes. It was coming back to him.
With anyone else—including himself, when he was alone—he didn't acknowledge the dreams; just tried to brush past them.
With Kaytoo, he always told him. How rotten to conscript someone to help you and then not let them do it…?
Not that he had to say very much. "Carida. My dad."
Shaking himself, Cassian looked toward the window to gauge the light. "What time is it? How long was I out?"
no subject
The actual question, however, did get an answer: "A few hours, more than four, almost five." Which he didn't have to say was longer than Cassian usually managed at a stretch, they both knew it and it was the kind of thing that didn't really bear discussing unless it got much worse than that, which it had, on occasion.
no subject
He nodded acknowledgment and stood to gather his clothes from the dryer. "Anything happen meantime?"
no subject
Certainly, that kind of thing might have been worth noticing if whoever it was hadn't definitely been turned away, and while there was a small chance that they would return, it was small enough not to be any actual concern.

I have also just flung you a friend request over on Plurk for ease of conversating.]
no subject
Friended! :-) The drama happened on plurk so I've been staying away for a while—if you ever want to reach me more quickly than I'm checking plurk, PMs to this journal will get my attention!
Is there any new direction/development/setting/anything that'd interest you with these two? :) I can certainly see them commandeering a ship… maybe getting into a somewhat vigilante lifestyle…? That's just my first thought, I'm not married to anything.]
no subject
And now I just cracked up at the idea of them falling into the 'wrong' timeline and becoming well-meaning mercs. Mostly because it's the kind of thing they'd do.]
no subject
Hehe! For sure! I don't know if they'd steal a ship… maybe try to repair/cobble together their own in a city dump IDK?]
no subject
I mean, he'd also be fine being allowed to use his predictive analytics and whatnot to just win them some money to buy one of the impound auction ships.]
no subject
HAHA oh that's also a fun thought…!]
no subject
But he'd definitely be better at just y'know, liberating one than getting the moneys to buy one.]
no subject
Yes, agreed! Lessee… I can see picking up where we left off to get into that line of planning, or we could jump ahead…? I'm eager to do whatever you want to do, if you have the slightest preference!]

and now it's afternoon instead of morning because I was busy doing some adulting
D'aw, adulting, who wants that? ;-) It's splendid! Muchas gracias!
I mean, people who want to be able to make dinner, I guess?
D'aw, dinner, who wants—? Nah, nevermind, that's a good point. ;-)
